Medical City Denton November 01, 2016

Medical City Denton was one of 844 hospitals to receive an “A” ranking by The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog. New Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, which assign A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provide the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S., ranked Medical City Denton among the safest hospitals in the United States.

“We are delighted that Medical City Denton has been recognized with an ‘A’ Rating by Leapfrog,” said Steve Edgar, CEO of Medical City Denton. “We recognize this achievement only occurs when a care team commits itself to the safety and highest level of care for patients. I appreciate the devotion and skill of our entire staff.”

“Quality care and patient safety are the cornerstones of Medical City Denton,” Nicki Roderman, Chief Nursing Officer, continued. “Our continued focus on improving and sustaining outcomes is reflected in this ‘A’ rating. We are extremely proud of our commitment to safety for those who entrust us with their care.”

Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
